Canon manufactures both professional and amateur cameras. For its EOS series of digital SLR and mirrorless cameras, the company developed EOS Utility, a free program that provides communication between the computer and the camera.
The whole set of functions needed to exchange information between the computer and the camera is presented in this program. Downloading photos and videos from the camera's memory card to your computer with EOS Utility is easy and convenient. For EOS digital cameras, remote shooting controlled from the computer is possible over a USB cable or, on supported models, over Wi-Fi or LAN. The current camera settings are also displayed on your computer, and a live view image can be shown on the screen. You can adjust shutter speed, aperture, ISO, white balance and other settings at any time. Downloaded RAW and JPEG images can be passed automatically to Digital Photo Professional, Canon's own editor, for processing, saving you time. The installer includes EOS Utility 3 for current models, EOS Utility 2 for older cameras and the EOS Lens Registration Tool, and a launcher starts the right version. EOS Utility is available for Windows and macOS, and updates are published on Canon's official support websites.
The main benefit of using EOS Utility is the ability to remotely control and adjust camera settings, enabling efficient computer-camera interaction.
