COMODO Internet Security is a comprehensive solution for protecting your computer from virus and Internet attacks. The program includes three main modules - antivirus, Defense+ module and firewall. Antivirus allows you to scan your computer for malware - you can set up scanning settings, use the built-in scheduler and send suspicious files for analysis. Firewall module allows you to fully control access to the Internet by the programs installed on your computer. It should be noted that the integrated COMODO Internet Security firewall is one of the best free firewalls and has won the love of a huge number of users.
This firewall allows you to specify which applications are allowed to access the Internet and which are not. It allows you to define packet filtering rules, view the list of active connections, and hide the computer's ports. The last of the three main modules, the Defense+ module, is designed to monitor applications in real time. Defense+ "skips" only trusted programs. If a program or file is not trusted, Defense+ puts it in a sandbox, an isolated environment that prevents the program from changing system settings, creating files, etc. You can also run suspicious applications in the sandbox yourself - in this case, all the changes made by these applications and files created by them will not go beyond the sandbox and can be easily removed. COMODO Internet Security can automatically update antivirus databases from the Internet, allows you to exclude certain folders from the list of checks and configure scanning parameters (including the depth of heuristic analysis). The Defense+ usage policy is also configurable - you can choose from five available modes (from Inactive to Paranoid). Despite the fact that COMODO Internet Security provides protection for the computer on several levels at once, during the operation of this program consumes surprisingly little system resources.
