FastStone Photo Resizer is a convenient, functional and completely free program for fast processing, renaming and resizing of images. The main advantage of the program is that it can work with a large group of files. It will be very useful for those who need to quickly arrange the copyright on photos, resize a large number of pictures or rename a group of files. It doesn't have to be images - starting with version 3.3 FastStone Photo Resizer supports batch change of names for any files.
In addition to the basic functions of Photo Resizer can flip the image, crop according to the specified parameters, change the resolution, color depth, change the brightness, contrast, gamut, color saturation, translate into B/W, set DPI - the number of dots per inch for printing, add text or picture as a watermark, and so on.
FastStone Photo Resizer provides quick and easy batch processing for resizing, renaming, and editing images.
Each function has a large number of configurable parameters, for example, the Resize function - resizing - can be selected in which units to resize the image:
in pixels, if you want to specify the exact size, for example 1200px, you can choose an algorithm of resizing to achieve the minimum change in image quality;
as a percentage, say, if you want to reduce the picture by 25%;
in inches or centimetres, if you need to prepare the images for printing;
based on one side - if there are a large number of images with different resolutions and you need to lead them to the same resolution, keeping the proportions. Can be based on the long side, short side, length and width. In practice, it looks like this: there are 10 photos with a resolution from 1366×768 to 3008x2000 and you need to reduce them so that the image does not exceed 800 pixels on either side and the ratio of sides is preserved - because the photos can be both horizontal and vertical, 2x3 and 3x4, and so on. You just need to choose Resize > Resize based on one side, select Long Side in the Predefined Side tab - based on the long side, exactly set 800 and you can safely press Convert - the program will do everything by itself. If you are not sure of the final result - each tab has a preview button where you can evaluate the result and compare the modified image with the original.
