It is very difficult for such services to adapt to trends, so it turned out that it is a little stuck in time and does not even have an application for desktops but exists in the form of an extension in the browser. Despite this, Browsec is a VPN that provides privileges available in other services; for example, it securely encrypts your traffic and does not allow prying eyes to see what you are doing.

Browsec is a quite popular service but is very stuck in time and is already behind the services that can be bought at the same price. It doesn`t have apps on Windows or Mac, but it can be used as an extension. The developers promise to release the application on PC, but this promise lasts quite a long time. The service does not have a Zero-Log policy and is located in the jurisdiction of the Russian Federation, the laws of which can be observed most arbitrarily and, accordingly, your data may be at risk. Let`s look closer at the service and see what makes it remarkable.

Browsec has almost nothing to offer its users for protection other than the following features:

Browsec gave us very different results, suggesting that the backend work could have been done better. It isn`t easy to sum up the speed of the service since we received results from 10Mbps to 405Mbps in downloading. Still, in general, for its price, it is tough to get a service that will provide about 400Mbps on a server in Amsterdam, which will be enough to watch 4K content, TV series, Netflix, or YouTube videos. Browsec is a very old service, and today, it has 800 servers in 43 countries. This is an average figure and does not make the service stand out in anything special, and the fact that the speeds on these servers are not uniform also does not create a reputation for it. But this is about speed, and we’ll discuss what opportunities such a server network creates for users. The Browsec privacy policy says that the developers collect data about you and your activities, and the developers did not mention your browsing history and IP address, which is a red flag for any privacy policy. The service collects your data and has not made sure that you feel as comfortable as possible when using it, and we would not recommend such services.

We have already reviewed very cheap services, and the price of Browsec is not even close to them. However, those same cheap services offer much more anonymity and protection, including an application for Windows. The service cannot be paid for using cryptocurrency, which is sad because, in general, not a single attempt was made to anonymize users when using and purchasing.

We strongly do not recommend using Browsec for torrenting since it is a very poor tool for protecting your traffic, and even more so, when using it, you will not be anonymous enough to download torrents. Browsec also does not offer a Zero-Log policy, without which it is impossible even to imagine downloading torrents. The lack of a desktop app puts Browsec at the bottom of the list of services we would recommend. Not only that, but it lacks almost everything; there are no proven and useful functions such as a kill switch, double VPN, shadow mode, and everything else. For the two dollars that the service asks for two years, you can buy a service that will protect you much better than Browsec without an application on Windows and Mac. The service could follow trends and improve user protection, but for some reason, it does not do this and does not pay attention to the trends that are set by industry leaders such as Express VPN or CyberGhost. We recommend bypassing the outdated service and buying a subscription to one of the modern services capable of much more.
