Gajim

Gajim provides desktop messaging for people with accounts on XMPP services. You can sign in to more than one account, organize your contacts, and start individual or group conversations. The app keeps past messages available for later reading, which helps with ongoing discussions across accounts. It connects to XMPP servers rather than messaging services that use other protocols.

After adding an account, you can open chats from the contact list and send files to other users. Gajim supports OMEMO and OpenPGP for encrypted messages when your contacts support them. It can also keep conversations aligned across devices using an XMPP synchronization feature. Optional plugins add functions, while settings let you adjust the interface and configure your accounts.
