Hotspot Shield Elite is a paid version of the program designed to connect to a virtual VPN network. The application has two main purposes: to provide protection against identity hijacking when connected to open Wi-Fi hotspots, as well as to change IP and, as a result, to bypass regional restrictions on access to web services. The program uses the HTTPS protocol to encrypt received and transmitted data. In fact, the virtual network is a hub between your computer and the access point. It is this hub that "receives" and "gives" data from the access point to the PC and back. Thus, attackers and spyware cannot access your computer by "relying" on the virtual network.
The Hotspot Shield Elite has the option of selecting the IP country of the virtual network to which the user connects. In total, the program offers a list of about twenty countries. You will hardly find a more or less popular web service that is not available in all these twenty countries. In addition to regional restrictions, the Hotspot Shield Elite helps bypass local ones. For example, blocking social networks and entertainment services on school and work PCs.
Hotspot Shield Elite provides secure, encrypted internet access, protecting users against identity theft and bypassing regional restrictions.
The program has a free version called Hotspot Shield. In addition to the Elite set-top box, this version does not have a choice of IP country, anti-phishing and anti-spam features, it also has a data transfer rate limitation and can display additional advertising blocks on web pages.
