Perfect Player

Perfect Player is a free IPTV and media player for Windows by Sergey Nikitin (Niklabs). It plays live TV channels from playlists supplied by an IPTV provider and shows the program guide (EPG) for them. The PC version is built around a channel list manager: it loads one or more provider playlists and EPG sources, merges them into a single channel list, lets you set logos and groups, and plays channels in a scalable video window or in fullscreen with a semi-transparent on-screen menu. The same developer also made an Android version for set-top boxes, phones and tablets, which can take its playlist, EPG and logos from the PC version acting as an IPTV data server.

Perfect Player collects IPTV playlists, EPG data and channel logos from several sources into one managed channel list for watching live TV on a PC.

Features

- Playlist formats: Perfect Player opens M3U and XSPF playlists by URL or from a file, with a selectable text encoding.

- EPG support: program guide data is loaded in XMLTV and JTV formats, with manual or automatic mapping of the EPG to channels.

- Multiple sources: several provider playlists and EPG URLs can be used at the same time.

- Channel management: rename, hide or show channels, manage channel groups, mark radio channels and set time zone shifts for the EPG.

- Settings are kept: the program remembers channel list settings, so they are not lost after the provider updates its playlist.

- Channel scanning: channels without a signal are marked and can be excluded from the final playlist until the signal returns; channels removed by the provider are marked as lost.

- Sorting: channels can be sorted by name or group, kept in the provider's order, or have hidden channels moved to the bottom.

- Logos: channel logos can be assigned manually or automatically from a logos directory.

- udpxy support: multicast IPTV streams can be watched through a udpxy UDP-to-HTTP proxy.

- Export: the final playlist and EPG can be exported for other players, and the program can act as an IPTV data server for the Android version.

- Playback options: hardware acceleration, deinterlacing mode, render priority and the fullscreen display are set in the Playback properties.

- Interface languages: English, Greek, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Ukrainian. For bedtime viewing it can be combined with a separate sleep timer utility.

The Windows version has not been updated for years and the developer's website is no longer online, but the program still works as a lightweight IPTV channel manager and player.
