Bart's PE Builder will help you create "BartPE" (Bart Preinstalled Environment) boot disks from the regular Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 installation distributions. This will give you a complete Win32 environment with network support, GUI (800x600) and FAT/NTFS/CDFS file systems. With the help of such boot disks you can test computers without operating systems, recover files, scan the system for viruses, etc. PE Builder is not from Microsoft and does not create the Microsoft Windows Preinstallation Environment ("Windows PE"). Using it does not give you a license for Microsoft Windows PE.

I went on the Google search engine and searched for softradar.com Barts PE Builder for Windows. I took me directly to the site description and from there I clicked into the page. Based on the product description, the first thing I noticed was that it was out dated. The product helps you reboot a preexisting environment for Windows XP and Windows server 2003. According to the description, it lets you "boot disks you can test computers without operating systems, recover files, scan the system for viruses,"(product description). This product does not give you a Microsoft license and it has since been discontinued

I recently used the Bart's PE Builder software to build a bootable USB drive. The software was easy to use and was able to create a bootable USB drive quickly. The interface was intuitive and the instructions were clear. The software allowed me to add and remove files from the USB drive as well as add drivers. I also liked that I could configure the drive to enable networking and add registry entries. Overall, I was pleased with the software and it worked as expected.
