CDR Media Code Identifier is a program that can read the information on a disc and relay the information back to the user. It uses the ATIP information on the disc and copies so that the user can look at lots of information not available on the label of the disc. ATIP information can provide details such as dye type of the disc, the speed of the disc, the manufacturer of the disc, the disc type, and much more.
When running this application, the CDR Media Code Identifier will display all the information in the main window and then allow for the information to be copied onto the main clipboard for easy transfer onto other applications and platforms. If there is more than one disc currently being detected, then it will even allow the user to swap back and forth among those discs, and select which information is important and which information the user was to copy.
This information can be very useful and important for users because it allows for verification of what is on a disc without having to actually run the disc on a drive. It also allows the user to know what speed drive is necessary to run a disc before using it, thus saving the disc from possibly being corrupted by running it on the wrong drive type.
CDR Media Code Identifier works specifically with Recordable and Re-writable CDs. They will not work on other types of discs.
