Fyler

Fyler is a file manager from MusicDevelopments, the developer of RapidComposer, designed as a media and metadata centred alternative to Windows File Explorer. It targets musicians, sound designers and other users who handle many audio, MIDI, video and image files. Metadata is read from these files and shown in columns, including EXIF data from JPEG pictures and BWF information from broadcast WAVE files.

Makes large collections of audio, MIDI, video and image files easier to sort, filter and rename.

Folders open in tabs, and presets for audio, MIDI, video, images and other data types are included. Audio waveforms, MIDI content and image thumbnails are previewed with zooming, audio and MIDI files play with one click, and MIDI tracks can be dragged into a DAW. Files can be rated, commented, tagged, filtered and batch renamed using metadata or a counter. Custom actions, called verbs, and vector icons can be assigned to file types. Fyler is paid software with a fully functional demo.
