GTPlayer
GTPlayer (GT Player) is a free music player and downloader for Windows from Downloadxy. Instead of managing files that are already on your disk, it is built around online music: you type the name of a song or artist into the search box, listen to the results directly in the player and save the tracks you like to your computer. Unlike streaming services such as Spotify, it saves the tracks as ordinary audio files. The developer's website currently states that GtPlayer is out of service and that a new, redesigned product is being made, so online search and playback may no longer work.
Find, play and download songs from one simple window, with playlists, favourites and a download queue built in.
Features
• Music search: a large search field in the middle of the main window finds songs by title or artist, with Search and Paste and Go buttons below it.
• Online playback: found tracks can be played right away, with standard playback buttons, a seek bar, a volume slider, repeat and shuffle.
• Music downloads: the built-in downloader saves songs to a folder you choose and supports download queues, pausing and resuming interrupted downloads.
• Parallel downloads: the number of simultaneous downloads can be set, and queued downloads can restart automatically when the program starts.
• Download format: the default download format is chosen in the preferences, and the developer mentions downloads in MP3, M4A and FLAC formats.
• Popular and Fresh Music: the sidebar shows lists of currently popular songs and fresh releases to help you follow music trends.
• Favourites: songs you like can be marked as favourites and kept at hand in a separate list.
• Playlists: the Playlist menu lets you create, activate, rename, remove and reorder your own playlists.
• Languages: the interface language can be changed from the Tools menu; English, Spanish and Russian are among the available options.
• Preferences: start GTPlayer automatically when you sign in to Windows, keep it running in the system tray after closing the window, and scale the interface to 100, 200, 300 or 400 percent.
• Editions: separate 32-bit and 64-bit installers are offered on the developer's website, and the program is free of charge. Downloading copyrighted music may be restricted by law in your country.
