XBoot is a free program that allows you to create bootable USB drives and ISO images. In contrast to alternative solutions, it gives the opportunity to add several distributions to the image or on a "flash drive". These media are usually called multiboot media. It is important to note that the program does not know how to work with Windows and MacOS distributions, it is "friendly" only with Unix-systems. But in the case of LiveCD/LiveDVD, there are no compatibility problems. XBoot allows you to create a bootable media with any program or set of programs that are necessary for system administration and recovery (Kaspersky Rescue Disk, Acronis LiveCD, etc.).
All the necessary distributions from which the original image or media will be formed should be added to the list located in the main window of the program. After this is done, you only have to choose between "Create ISO" or "Create USB". The boot menu is created automatically by the program, selecting the names of items under the headings of distributions. Syslinux is used by default, but you can also use Grub4dos if you like. XBoot also has a hash sum checking tool, which is often required when working with operating system images.
XBoot allows the creation of multiboot USB drives and ISO images, simplifying system recovery and administrative tasks across Unix-based systems.
The QEMU tool is included in the program to check the media performance. It is an emulation platform designed to run various software. That is, before you start creating media, you can learn how it will work and check the completeness of its configuration.
- Creation of multiboot media with Unix distributions and live disks of various programs;
- creation of ISO images;
- the ability to select the desired boot menu (Syslinux/Grub4dos);
- Built-in QEMU emulator that allows you to test the performance of the finished media/disk;
- convenient editing of the distribution list;
- a tool to check the hash sums;
- a simple and intuitive interface.
