Xpand 2

Xpand 2 gives composers and producers a collection of instrument sounds for writing melodies, building backing tracks, and shaping textures. Its presets draw on sampled audio, wavetables, and FM synthesis. You can choose a preset or assemble a layered instrument to suit a piece of music, then save your changes for later use.

A sound can contain four layers, each with its own MIDI assignment, keyboard range, volume balance, arpeggiator, and modulation controls. Layers can play single notes or chords, with polyphonic playback supporting 64 simultaneous notes per layer. Six context-sensitive knobs adjust the selected layer or, in a shared editing mode, the whole sound. Two effects units offer 50 editable processing options.
