Surge XT

Surge XT gives musicians a way to compose parts and shape custom instrument sounds. It can be used as a plugin in a music production setup to make bass lines, leads, pads, and other electronic textures. Presets provide a starting point, while separate sound layers let users stack sounds or assign them to different sections of a keyboard.

Each patch can contain two synthesis sections, with three oscillators in each. The oscillator models include options for wavetable, frequency-modulated, string-like, and noise-based sounds. Filters, modulation controls, and effects provide further ways to change a patch. The synth also supports expressive MIDI performance, alternative tuning systems, and Open Sound Control messages for use with other music tools.
