Batch File Rename from BinaryMark is a Windows tool for renaming many files at once according to templates. Names can be built from file properties, EXIF data of photos, ID3 tags of music files, dates and even file hashes such as MD5 or CRC, and text can be found and replaced with regular expressions.
Renames large numbers of files by rules instead of by hand.
Files are collected from folders and their subfolders, and renaming can run manually, continuously on a watched folder, on a schedule or from the command line. An Explorer shell extension starts renaming from the right-click menu, and developers can add custom actions through a .NET SDK. A portable option is available, and the program can be tried before buying.
