Express Assist is designed as a lightweight software application with a strong purpose of helping users to create data from Windows Live Mail Desktop and Outlook Express. 

Express Assist application uses a wizard-like approach in providing the help of backing up of data from users. Express Assist has many other features such as creating reminders for backup and deleting logs or a set of previous backups when they become useless or exceeds the number of copies acceptable.

There is also a built-in scheduler that carries out tasks with given details. It conducts some tasks automatically after backups based on details and instruction such as shut down the computer, end the program, log off the current user, terminates all other tasks. The scheduler can be done on specific days and times.

Express Assist also can automatically save a backup log, show backup logs, compress your data as well as compression quality. It even can help you skip many other files from the compression by filtering the file extension.
