Keyboard LEDs is a small free utility by KARPOLAN (Anton Karpenko) that shows the current state of Caps Lock, Num Lock and Scroll Lock on the screen of a Windows PC. Many notebooks, netbooks and cordless keyboards have no indicator lights for these keys, and Scroll Lock indicators have almost disappeared from modern hardware. The program solves this problem: it shows the lock states as an icon in the system tray or in a small floating on-screen display, and lets you switch any lock with the mouse.

It shows lock key status on laptops and wireless keyboards that have no indicator lights, which helps avoid typing mistakes.

Features:

• Tray indicator: A tray icon with up to three virtual LEDs, each assigned to Num Lock, Caps Lock or Scroll Lock and shown in its own color.

• On-screen display: A small semi-transparent window appears on the desktop when a selected lock is turned on.

• Display options: Choose the size, the body and text colors and the opacity of the on-screen display.

• Auto-hide: Hide the on-screen display when all locks are off, or after a set number of seconds.

• Sound alert: An optional beep sounds whenever the state of a lock key changes.

• Switch locks with the mouse: Buttons in the main window turn Num Lock, Caps Lock and Scroll Lock on and off.

• Startup option: The program can start automatically with Windows.

• Freeware: The program is free; optional online features check for updates.

Keyboard LEDs is a practical helper for anyone who types on a laptop or a wireless keyboard without lock indicators. It helps avoid typing a password with Caps Lock accidentally on, or moving the cursor instead of entering digits on the numeric keypad because Num Lock is off.
