You control Math Man by using the four arrow keys on your keyboard. You need to steer him towards the location of the special food marked with a question mark. Once there, an equation appears at the bottom of the screen and you must solve it.

You can revisit the special food to receive a new equation. Once you have the solution, Math Man can eat the ghost carrying the number corresponding to the answer. You then revisit the special food to get a new question. This process continues until all the ghosts are eliminated, at which point you can move on to the next level.
