MeshLab is a 3D graphics editor designed to process unstructured 3D models obtained from 3D scanning. The program contains a set of tools for editing, cleaning, correcting, checking, rendering and converting such models (bags). The basis for the program is the Visualization and Computer Graphics Library (VCG lib), a system for displaying and processing triangular and tetrahedral grids through OpenGL.
In program MeshLab the function of rendering in real time NPR Rendering, using a principle of construction of the image by a method of hatching by means of OpenGL shaders with possibility of rendering of images in very high permissions is realised. It can also process large, multi-polygonal 3D models.

The program is distributed in accordance with the GPL license as an open source project and is available on the main Windows, Linux and MacOSX platforms (based on intel processors).
MeshLab efficiently processes and renders large, unstructured 3D models, offering versatile editing and cleaning tools for high-resolution images.
- interactive selection and deletion of grid parts. Works even for large models;
- Paint interface for model painting, also for smoothing settings;
- Many supported formats: PLY, STL, OFF, OBJ, 3DS, COLLADA, VRML, DXF, GTS, U3D, IDTF, X3D and others;
- Various filters, such as bag cleaning filter, bag reshaping filter, bag colouring filter and others;
- the ability to paint models;
- Built-in toolset for 3D scanning;
- possibility of extending the functionality of the program by adding plugins.
