MusicBrainz Picard is a cross-platform software application that is written in Python. It can be described as the official tagger of MusicBrainz i.e. it is mainly used for tagging, identifying, and organizing digital audio recordings. It is a free and open-source application.

Picard will support most of the audio file formats and they use audio fingerprints such as PUIDs, AcoustIDs etc. It has got remarkable Unicode support.

Picard will identify the audio recordings and CDs by comparing the records in the database with the acoustic fingerprints. Once it is identified, Picard can add details about the audio files such as the title of the album, artist name, date of release, and the record label. Picard can also add details about the instruments used and other artists in the recordings. Picard uses an album-oriented approach while tagging information. Once tagging is done, we will be having the correct album information. Each audio file is matched with its metadata correctly by Picard while identifying. If we want to rename the files, we can do it manually also.

MusicBrainz Picard is a great software for organizing music libraries. It has an easy to use interface and makes it very simple to tag and rename music files. I really like how it can quickly download and add cover art to albums. It also has a great selection of file formats it can read and save. I find that it's very good at accurately matching songs with its online database. The only issue I have found is that it can be slow to save changes to large collections. Overall, it's a great tool for organizing music files.
