NOOK for PC allows users to read and purchase digital books on their computer.
NOOK for PC makes it easy for users to access and manage their NOOK library on a Windows computer. With just a few clicks, you can browse your titles, download them, and keep them stored on your PC. Pages are shown with page numbers and clean text formatting, and you can select text, look up words in the built-in dictionary, search inside a book, highlight passages, and add notes. Besides NOOK Store purchases, the program opens ePub, PDF, and PDB files, including PDFs protected with Adobe DRM. eTextbooks bought for NOOK Study stay in that separate app and cannot be read here.
NOOK for PC is no longer offered or updated, and Barnes & Noble no longer supports it. The later NOOK for Windows app was also removed from the Microsoft Store. Barnes & Noble now points readers to the NOOK Reading Apps for Android and iOS and to NOOK for Web, which lets you read in a browser. All previously purchased NOOK content remains available in these apps and services, so switching does not mean losing your library.
