Serif WebPlus is a good choice for anyone looking to create a website quickly and easily in a desktop program. It offers a wide range of features that make the website building process simple, but it is no longer developed or sold.

Editing and Design

Serif WebPlus includes an easy-to-use drag-and-drop editor that makes creating webpages a breeze. You can add text, images, videos, and other content simply by dragging and dropping them onto the page. You can also customize the look and feel of your website with the WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get) interface. This allows you to see exactly how your website will look before it goes live, and pages can be previewed in a web browser before publishing.

The software also includes a variety of templates to choose from, grouped into categories such as Community & Education and Home Business. Whether you’re looking for a business website or a personal site, you can start from a template and pick a color scheme. You can also customize the templates to fit your individual needs.

Advanced Tools

Serif WebPlus also includes a range of advanced tools to help you create interactive webpages. You can add forms, photo galleries with slideshows, YouTube videos, Google Maps and PayPal e-commerce to your website. The software also includes tools to help you optimize your website for search engine rankings and to add Google Analytics, so you can track the visitors to your site.

Integrated Hosting

Serif WebPlus has a built-in FTP client, so you can upload your website to a web host directly from the program. Serif also offered hosting with addresses in the form sitename.webplus.net. Some advanced features, such as Smart Objects for blogs, forums, polls and hit counters, relied on Serif Web Resources, which were switched off on 31 August 2018.

Product Status

Serif WebPlus is no longer supported. WebPlus X8, released in 2014, was the final version; Serif announced the end of the product in March 2016 and stopped selling it at the end of that year. Existing copies can still be installed, but no updates are released.

Conclusion

Serif WebPlus was a popular choice for anyone looking to create a website quickly and easily. The drag-and-drop editing, WYSIWYG interface, and variety of templates make it easy to create a website without any prior knowledge or experience. The advanced tools and built-in publishing options make it possible to create an interactive website. However, since the program is discontinued and some of its online features no longer work, new users may prefer an actively developed website builder.
