Algodoo teaches you the basics of physics using a very large variety of variables. It is completely free to use and learn.

  • large and active community
  • physic simulation include fluids, springs, hinges, motors, thrusters, light rays, tracers, etc
  • teaches basic physics
  • many different parameters like gravity, friction, restitution, refraction, attraction
  • users can create and share specific lessons
  • great for classroom teachers
  • very large number of variables to play with.

Algodoo is a great program that teaches your about science and physics using fantastic art. You can analyze and visualize by using Algodoos' graphs and visualization forces, velocities and momentum, you can even show the X/Y components and angles. Algodoo allows you to create scenes using simple drawing tools like boxes, circles, etc. It allows you to easyily interact with your objects using click and drag, and tilt and shake. Algodoo has a very larg community so it is very easy to save and share your scenes with other people. You can also browse and download over 50,000 community scenes. If you are an advanced user of Algodoo you can extraordinary things creat actuall playable games, but even without being an advanced user you can have a blast by using the many many objects and settings. It is recommended to use Algodoo with middle and high school students, and there are many handy tutorials for students to learn to use Algodoo. Algodoo uses the latest physics technology for multiphysics simulation, which includes variational mechanical integrators and high performance numerical methods. Algodoo can run on windows and mac OS and can also be used with systems like  SMART board. in conclusion this seems to be a very good tool for leanring how physiscs works in real life and to teach students the importance of gravity and physics.

Teaches you about physics!
