ASUS Live Update Utility

ASUS Live Update Utility is a utility from ASUS which allows the user to monitor the updates and drivers available for an ASUS computer and install them literally in "one click". Driver packages on the ASUS support site often come as ZIP archives that have to be unpacked with a tool such as 7-Zip, while Live Update downloads and installs its updates by itself.

You don't have to spend much time on the Internet looking for new drivers, BIOS versions and ASUS utilities, because ASUS Live Update will do it for you. In the utility you can choose between automatic tracking of new updates and manual search. In addition, it lets you select how regular and critical updates are handled:

automatically install all found updates;

The ASUS Live Update Utility simplifies the process of updating your ASUS device by automatically finding and installing necessary updates and drivers.

automatically perform checks, but only download the updates the user selects;

never check or download any updates found (the user will do it manually).

Also in the settings you can choose the frequency of checks (once a day, once a week, etc.). Set up the parameters once and the utility keeps the computer up to date in the background.

The program interface is simple: the main screen contains a "Check update immediately" button and information about the last check. ASUS announced the end of support for Live Update on December 4, 2025; version 3.6.15 is the last release, and on newer ASUS laptops its functions are part of the MyASUS app. As the tool was abused in the 2018 ShadowHammer supply-chain attack, ASUS advises using version 3.6.8 or later.
