CrystalDiskInfo

An information application to monitor the status of HDDs, SSDs and certain other media that are connected to Windows. The program monitors and stores information about the current state of the drives. During the operation of the CrystalDiskInfo, detailed information about the health status of the drives is displayed, and their temperature is monitored. The CrystalDiskInfo application uses the data from the built-in S.M.A.R.T. function to work (Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology). This technology is built into the drives themselves: the drive firmware records the attributes that the program reads. On some computers, S.M.A.R.T. reporting can be disabled in the BIOS settings.

The program displays detailed information about the state of the drives, as well as data such as the model, firmware version, serial number, interface, transfer mode, supported standards and features, drive letters, power-on count and power-on hours. In addition, CrystalDiskInfo shows the full list of S.M.A.R.T. attributes with their current, worst, threshold and raw values, rates the health of each drive as Good, Caution or Bad, can draw temperature and attribute graphs, and can stay in the notification area and alert you by sound or e-mail when a problem is detected. It supports many USB drives, Intel RAID and NVMe SSDs. In addition, the program implements functions of hard disk management, such as APM and AAM. (Advanced Power Management is a drive feature for configuring the power consumption of the device, balancing performance against energy saving. Automatic Acoustic Management allows you to reduce disk noise by slowing down head movement at the cost of some speed. This function is supported only by some ATA hard drives, and many modern drives no longer offer it.) CrystalDiskInfo is free and open source under the MIT licence and is also available in themed editions such as Shizuku and Kurei Kei.
