If the functionality of the free Lite version of the well-known tool for working with images and virtual drives called DAEMON Tools seems insufficient to you, you can switch to the more complete version with the Pro suffix. The main difference of the extended version is its set of advanced imaging tools and the larger number of virtual drives. The interface of DAEMON Tools Pro is very similar to that of the "little brother", except for a few buttons and panels responsible for additional functions. The latter include the ability to create, edit, convert, compress and write disk images to physical media and protect them with a password. Important advantages of the professional edition include, among other things, a wider list of supported formats and the ability to emulate up to 32 DT, HD and SCSI drives together with 4 IDE devices.

Another important tool that will be very useful in everyday use is the image catalogue. It keeps the image files you work with in one place, so any of them can be mounted in just a couple of clicks. Besides, the user can organize the images in the catalogue and quickly find the most important and frequently used ones.

During the installation of DAEMON Tools Pro, you will be prompted to install the virtual drive driver. Please note that it is recommended that you restart your computer after the installation is completed in order to make it work properly. The functions are available from the main window, the tray agent, a desktop gadget and the Windows Explorer context menu. By the way, users can assign letters to virtual drives in the professional edition of DAEMON Tools themselves. The Pro edition can also write images to USB drives, burn Raspberry Pi OS to SD cards, restore a USB stick to its factory state, create dynamic or fixed virtual hard disks and store data in TrueCrypt containers. After a 14-day free trial, the program is available as a yearly subscription or a lifetime license.
