Dism++

Dism++ is a powerful system utility for managing and optimizing the Windows operating system. Developed by the team at Chuyu, it is a graphical front end built on the Windows servicing (CBS/DISM) technology and gives users a comprehensive set of tools for maintaining their PCs. Dism++ is free, portable and a handy alternative to the native Windows Disk Cleanup and the command-line DISM tool.

1. System Cleaner: Dism++ provides a powerful disk clean-up tool that can quickly remove unwanted files from your PC, freeing up valuable hard drive space. It can clean temporary files, caches, logs, Windows Update leftovers and the WinSxS component store using its rules file.

2. System Optimizer: Dism++ includes a system optimizer which gathers many hidden Windows settings in one place. It lets you adjust Explorer, the taskbar, services, Windows Update behaviour and other system options.

3. System Backup: Dism++ includes a system backup feature which saves the current Windows installation into a WIM image file, so you can keep a full copy of the system.

4. System Restore: Dism++ can restore the system from such a backup image. Its Recovery menu also offers Scan Health, Restore Health, Bootmgr Repair and running the tool in Windows RE.

5. Startup Manager: Dism++ includes a startup section which shows the programs and services that start with Windows and lets you disable the ones you don't need.

6. System Updates: Dism++ includes an updates feature which lists installed and available Windows updates and lets you install or remove them, also offline with the wsusscn3.cab file.

7. Driver Management: Dism++ includes a drivers section which lists the installed third-party drivers and lets you export them as a backup or delete old ones.

8. Apps and Features: Dism++ can uninstall desktop programs, remove built-in Store (Appx) apps and turn optional Windows features on or off, in the running system or in an offline image.

9. Image Tools: Dism++ includes image tools which let you apply, mount and save WIM images, convert between WIM, ESD and SWM formats, turn ESD files into ISO and decrypt ESD files.

10. Deployment Features: Dism++ can set default file associations and prepare Pre-Answer (unattended setup) settings for a Windows image, which helps to deploy customized Windows installations.
