DraftSight Free
DraftSight Free is the former free edition of DraftSight, a 2D CAD program for creating, editing and viewing DWG and DXF drawings.
DraftSight is a professional 2D CAD application designed primarily for architects, engineers and designers. This application allows you to work with DXF and DWG files. It allows you to create, edit and view such documents, as well as sort and organize them. The program has a familiar AutoCAD-like interface with a command window and ribbon or classic workspaces. It was first released by Dassault Systèmes in 2010 as a free alternative to paid DWG editors.
Among the most important features of DraftSight are saving drawings as binary or ASCII DXF files, inserting and working with raster images, printing of drawings, the ability to create multi-page PDF documents, as well as support for many formats for export and import. The free edition stopped working at the end of 2019, when Dassault Systèmes moved DraftSight to paid Professional, Premium and Enterprise licences that can be tested with a 30-day free trial.
