ForceDelete

ForceDelete is a lightweight Windows tool for the familiar situation where a file or folder cannot be deleted because access is denied or it is being used by another program. It finds the lock held by the other process, releases it and deletes the item, which also helps with leftover folders of programs that have already been uninstalled.

Removes stubborn files without having to close or kill the programs that lock them.

Locks are released without terminating the processes that hold them, so other applications keep running. A command in the Explorer right-click menu makes the tool quick to reach, several items can be processed at once, and a command-line mode allows use in batch files. An optional shredding mode deletes files so that they cannot be recovered.
