Freecorder

Freecorder is a free Windows browser add-on from Applian Technologies that is used for recording video and audio from the user's browser as well as converting the saved files to other media formats. While Freecorder is primarily used for saving browser videos, its toolbar menu also opens an audio recorder, a screen recorder, a converter, an MP3 editor and a media player, which open it to a wider range of uses. The included media player plays the saved Flash video and MP3 files, so downloaded clips can be checked without a separate program. Freecorder supports many video websites and includes a dedicated YouTube downloader for saving YouTube videos to your computer. The program is no longer developed: Applian has removed it from its website, and the toolbar works only with Internet Explorer and older Firefox versions.

Features:

• Save videos that are streaming in your browser permanently to your computer
• Generate MP3 files from any sound played on your computer
• YouTube downloader for quickly and easily saving YouTube videos
• Record your computer's screen with the built-in Screen Recorder
• Download torrents using the built-in Torrent Downloader
• Convert audio and video files with the built-in Converter, for example MP3 to MP4
• Built-in Media Player for playing saved audio and video files
• Located conveniently in your browser toolbar for quick use and easy launch
• Video Search and MP3 Editor tools available from the same toolbar menu
• Compatible with both Internet Explorer and Firefox browser types

It lets users save online videos, such as YouTube clips, and record streaming audio straight from the browser.
