JPEGView is a lean and fast image viewer and editor for Windows that allows users to quickly view and adjust their JPEG and other image files. With its minimal user interface, JPEGView is suitable for both novice and experienced users alike. It was originally created by David Kleiner and is now maintained as an open-source project under the GPL v2 licence on GitHub.

• Viewing: JPEGView allows users to quickly view JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP, TIFF, PSD, WebP, JPEG XL, HEIF/HEIC and AVIF images as well as camera RAW files, and more formats through the Windows Imaging Component. A high-quality resampling filter keeps images sharp when zooming.

• Editing: JPEGView provides basic image processing tools that are applied in real time during viewing. Users can rotate images, correct perspective, and adjust sharpness, color balance, contrast and local under-exposure or over-exposure. JPEG images can be rotated and cropped losslessly.

• Image Information: JPEGView displays the EXIF data of photos, including camera settings and GPS coordinates, and reads metadata from JXL, HEIF, AVIF, WebP and PNG files as well.

• Slideshow: JPEGView includes a movie/slideshow mode that plays a folder of images as a movie, and users can browse through the images of a folder with the keyboard.

• Speed and Portability: JPEGView uses AVX2/SSE2 instructions and up to 4 CPU cores. It does not require installation, although an MSI installer is also available. Unlike photo managers such as Picasa, it has no image library or upload functions.
