This module allows the dentist to enter and manage information related to the patient's treatment plan.

It's short, to the point, easy to implement, and We've left out any fluff.

A Connection and networking limit, windows 10 S and Windows 11 S are not supported as Open Dental cannot be installed through the Microsoft store.

• Server:

                The 'SERVER' is the computer that runs the MySQL server program and stores the files and the database. OPEN DENTAL(and MySQL) can run on a Windows Virtual Machine/Server.

• Internet:

               For the best access to SERVICE and UPDATES, you should be connected to a high-speed internet connection.

• Display:

               The minimum resolution for OPENDENTAL is 1280x768 ( at that resolution hif=ding or moving the taskbar may be needed to use some windows).

• Memory: 

               Open Dental uses approximately 60MB of memory. The Minimum requirement for windows 8 64-bit is 2GB of Ram.

Advantages of this software:

1. It is generally well organized and well-planned.
2. All the module functions appear in one window.
3. It features an e-claims option where insurance and other patient payment can be tracked.
4. It was designed and produced by dentists, thus making it more suitable for a dental practice.
5. It can be controlled remotely.

Disadvantages of this software:

• Ther are so many Popup windows
• This can complicate the interaction
• The system should have convenient way to access and compare current and previous examinations of a particular patient.
• The addtional functions make it complaex and difficult to feed data.

General Purpose Notes:

1. Quick Paste Note setup is used to organize and enter frequently used by using templates.
2. Commlogs are for non-clinical patient communication.
3. Medical/Service Notes ahas a place for Med Urgent, Medical Summary, and service Notes.

Interface:

                Open Dental software has an easy-to-use query system. A dentist can query information related to the patient such as insurance plan, family, appiontment schedule, and dental image.
