PCI-Z

PCI-Z by Bruno Banelli is a small free utility for identifying the expansion cards and chips connected to a computer's PCI, PCI Express and PCI-X buses. It is especially useful when Windows shows an unknown device without a driver: PCI-Z reads the device's hardware identifiers and looks them up in the public PCI ID Repository to show which vendor and product it really is.

For every device the program lists the vendor, the full device name, the device class and subclass and its current status. The PCI ID database can be updated, a built-in search looks for a matching driver on the web, and a report can be sent by email. PCI-Z runs without installation from a single small file. The project is no longer maintained, and its website is gone.
