Rive Editor helps designers make animated artwork for websites, apps, and games. It can be used for controls, navigation, illustrated characters, and loading graphics that change when someone interacts with them. Rather than delivering only a recorded clip, a project can contain behavior that the host application uses to respond to input or updates in its data.

Design interactive graphics and define their behavior in one project, without recreating the motion in application code.

The workspace brings drawing, keyframe editing, and behavior setup together. Users can shape vector objects, adjust motion curves, and link animation changes to inputs or data values. Rigging tools support joint-based character movement, while layout settings help artwork fit different display areas. Finished files can be incorporated into software running on several platforms.

Features:

  • Draw editable vector shapes and text
  • Keyframe motion, color, and shape changes
  • Configure animation states triggered by input
  • Connect artwork properties to changing data
  • Rig characters with joints and constraints
  • Adjust layouts to fit available space
Windows 10 / Windows 11

PROS
State machines simplify interactive animation logic.
Vector assets stay sharp at different sizes.

CONS
State machines take time to master.
Complex projects can slow the editor.
