ViewNX
ViewNX is Nikon's free software for browsing, organizing and editing photos from Nikon digital cameras, including NEF RAW files.
ViewNX is a program from Nikon that allows you to easily view and edit images and snapshots. In addition, it has a set of tools for cataloguing and organizing photos. Of course, this solution can not be referred to as a professional tool, but it can be used to perform everyday tasks such as cropping and straightening, red-eye correction, changing brightness, white balance, exposure and other parameters.
ViewNX 2 offers three workspaces: Browser, GeoTag and Edit. The GeoTag workspace shows on a map where photos with location data were taken. The program also includes basic movie editing, printing and uploading to Nikon's online storage service. This application will be especially useful for Nikon camera owners, as Nikon Transfer 2 copies pictures from the camera to the computer, and ViewNX works with NEF RAW files as well as JPEG and TIFF. Nikon stopped offering ViewNX 2 and ViewNX-i for download in 2022 and now recommends NX Studio, its free successor.
