Advanced Archive Password Recovery is a program for accessing closed passwords and encrypted archives. This application successfully copes with archives created in PKZip, WinRAR, RAR, WinZip, ACE, WinACE, ARJ and WinARJ programs, and can restore access to archives in both automatic and manual modes. Advanced Archive Password Recovery supports large archives (over 4 GB in size) and self-extracting archives. The program uses several methods to crack archives, combining the use of common security vulnerabilities, brute-force and dictionary attack. You can pause and resume the hacking process and put the program in the background.
The success of hacking an archive varies - some ZIP and ARJ archives can take minutes to regain access, and archives that use encryption (e.g., AES algorithm) may take much longer to recover. Advanced Archive Password Recovery is available in two versions: standard and professional. The professional version can decrypt ZIP archives with AES encryption and, according to the developers of the program, is able to restore access to the archives created in WinZip 8.0 and earlier versions of this archiver in one hour (this requires the archive to have at least five files).
