Catch Video

Catch Video is a free Windows program that combines a video downloader, a music search page, a video converter, a screen recorder and a DVD burner in one window. Each tool has its own section in the left sidebar: Download, Mobile, Music, Convert, Record and Burn to DVD.

The program was distributed as freeware for Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8 and 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions. Its last known version was released in 2015; the official website is offline and Catch Video is no longer developed, so some online video sites may no longer work with its downloader. The interface is simple: you pick a section on the left, add a link or files, choose the output folder and start the task with one button.

Catch Video puts video downloading, format conversion, screen recording and DVD burning into one simple window.

Features

• Download Videos: Catch Video downloads online videos from a link. You copy the address of the page with the video in your browser, click the Paste button in the program and press Download.

• Resolution Choice: before downloading, you can choose the video resolution, for example 720p, from a drop-down list.

• Convert on Download: the Convert to option lets you save a downloaded video in another format right away, or keep it as it is with the No Conversion setting.

• Save Folder: every section has a Save to field, so you can choose where downloaded, converted, recorded and burned files are stored.

• Built-in Guide: the Download section shows a short three-step guide: copy the video URL, click Paste and click Download.

• Music: the Music section lets you search for artists or songs by keyword and play the matching videos inside the program.

• Convert Videos: in the Convert section you add local video files, choose an output format such as MP4 and convert several files in one batch. The list shows the name, size and status of every file.

• Record Screen: the Record section captures a selected area of the desktop to a WMV video, which is useful for short tutorials. Recordings are listed with their name, size and duration.

• Burn DVDs: the Burn to DVD section writes your videos to a DVD video disc. You can set the disc title and project type, such as DVD Video NTSC, and see the free space on the disc.

• ISO Images: instead of a physical burner, you can select the virtual drive option to save the DVD project as an ISO image file.

• Mobile: the Mobile section promotes the Catch Video app for Android and shows a QR code and a website address for downloading it to a phone.

• Settings: a gear icon in the title bar opens the program settings, and converted, recorded and burned files go to the Videos folder of your user profile by default.
