CCBoot is a diskless boot and PXE boot system: client computers start from a disk image stored on a central server instead of a local hard drive. It can be used for education, enterprise, internet cafes, thin clients, or render farms to restore a clean system after each restart and remove unwanted changes and viruses. Because of the diskless system feature, it eliminates the need for a hard drive to boot up.
The software boots many PCs in a network from one read-only image, so viruses or Trojans picked up during a session do not survive a restart. The system has two components that operate across all the computers in a network: client and server. The client component is on the target computers and connects them with the main computer, which has a server component. Updating the master image once updates every client that boots from it. The image is delivered over the iSCSI and PXE protocols, and the server caches data in RAM to speed up booting.
Features:
CCBoot lets client PCs run without local hard drives and returns them to a clean state after every reboot, undoing unwanted changes.
Besides these features, it reduces the staff needed to support a series of PCs in a network system. These systems include internet cafes, gaming centers, schools, libraries, and universities. The software presents the client's grouping feature for convenient control of a large number of computers.
For larger networks, two or more servers can share the load, and SSD write-back disks with a RAM cache keep the clients responsive. Older releases supported Windows XP, Vista and 7 clients, while current versions support Windows 10, Windows 11 and Windows Server 2019/2022 with UEFI and Secure Boot. You can take advantage of the free trial to experience all these features when cleaning your computers. For long-term use, a commercial licence has to be purchased; the price depends on the plan and the number of clients.
