CW Skimmer

CW Skimmer is an advanced multi-channel CW decoding application that allows you to monitor and decode Morse code transmissions on multiple channels simultaneously. It is used by amateur radio operators and shortwave listeners for a variety of tasks such as DXing, contesting and watching the CW segments of the bands.

Features:

• Multi-channel monitoring: CW Skimmer decodes all CW signals in the receiver passband at once - up to 700 signals in parallel with a wideband receiver.

CW Skimmer provides real-time decoding and display of multiple CW signals on a single panoramic band scope.

• Real-time decoding: The software decodes Morse code transmissions in real time with a high-sensitivity algorithm based on the methods of Bayesian statistics, and shows the decoded text of every signal.

• Bandwidth filtering: The DSP section includes a variable-bandwidth CW filter, a noise blanker and AGC for listening to the selected signal.

• Automated callsign extraction: The software extracts callsigns from the decoded text and labels them directly on the waterfall traces of the signals.

• Fast waterfall display: The waterfall has enough resolution to show the individual dots and dashes of Morse code, so signals can also be read visually.

• Radio control: CW Skimmer can control the transceiver through a COM port, keeping the program and the radio tuned to the same frequency.

• I/Q recording: CW Skimmer can record the received I/Q signal to a file and play it back later for decoding and analysis.

• Supported receivers: It works with SoftRock, RF Space SDR-IQ/SDR-14, QS1R, HPSDR Mercury, Perseus, Flex 6000 series, Elecraft KX3, Icom IC-7300/IC-7610 and with ordinary transceivers through the sound card.

• Flexible signal processing: The software allows you to adjust the signal processing settings to suit your individual requirements.

• DX spotting: CW Skimmer can spot DX stations: its built-in Telnet server exports the decoded callsigns as DX cluster spots to logging programs and other applications.

• Wideband operation: With a wideband software-defined receiver the program covers a whole band segment instead of the single 3-kHz audio channel of an ordinary radio.

• Trial version: CW Skimmer is shareware; an unregistered copy works for 30 days, and a purchased registration key removes the limit.

• Platform: CW Skimmer is a Windows program; the current version 2.1 runs on Windows ME, 2000, XP, 7 and later, 32-bit and 64-bit.
