Dahua SmartPSS

Dahua SmartPSS is a versatile software platform designed to help users manage their security cameras and other surveillance systems with ease. This easy-to-use desktop client provides a variety of features and functions to help users manage their surveillance systems and ensure a secure environment.

Dahua SmartPSS provides a single-point platform for managing multiple Dahua surveillance devices. It can manage up to 64 devices and 256 channels, including Dahua IP cameras, network video recorders and digital video recorders, as well as access control and attendance devices. It also has a built-in PC-NVR module that can record video on the local computer.

The software runs on a Windows PC (a macOS version was also offered) and connects to devices over the local network or the internet. Devices on the local network can be found with the Auto Search function and added in a few clicks. Dahua SmartPSS has a clear user interface built around a start page with Operation, Search and Configuration sections. The software also has a snapshot function, allowing users to easily capture snapshots of important events.

Dahua SmartPSS also features analytics and alarm functions, allowing users to quickly identify suspicious events. Motion detection, video loss and intelligent video surveillance (IVS) rules such as tripwire and intrusion raise events in the software, which can play alarm sounds and show them in an event list. People counting and heat map reports are available for supported cameras.

Dahua SmartPSS also supports playback features. Users can search recorded video by date, time and event, play back up to 36 channels synchronously, and save clips to the local computer. The software also supports remote playback, allowing users to play back recordings stored on the connected recorders.

Dahua SmartPSS also provides video wall setup, PTZ camera control, tours and tasks, and user management with different access rights. Configurable hot keys speed up common actions such as full-screen live view, record replay and snapshots. Dahua has discontinued SmartPSS and recommends SmartPSS Lite as its replacement; the last Windows build, 2.003.0000004, was released in 2023.
