DiskAid

DiskAid is a file transfer program from DigiDNA for moving music, messages, files and other data between a Windows PC and an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. It connects over USB, and later versions also over Wi-Fi, without the restrictions of iTunes sync.

DiskAid lets you copy music, messages, contacts and files between iOS devices and a PC without iTunes restrictions.

DiskAid is used to copy content from iOS devices to a computer and back. A step-by-step assistant helps you move music and videos from the device to the iTunes library or to any folder, and duplicates are handled automatically.

DiskAid gives you control over which data you transfer from your iPhone. You can export SMS text messages, contacts, notes, voicemail, voice memos and call history, and copy music, video and podcasts from the media library of the device. This comes in handy when you buy a new iPhone or want to keep a copy of your data on the computer.

Also, DiskAid gives access to the file system of the device and to the documents of apps that support file sharing. You can copy files and folders in both directions, create folders, and delete items directly from the device.

DiskAid is no longer developed under this name. DigiDNA replaced it with iMazing, which is made by the same team, and DiskAid users are offered a discount to upgrade. Features such as automatic scheduled backups belong to iMazing.

DiskAid is commercial software that can be tried before purchase. Devices are not tied to a single iTunes library, so any iPhone, iPod or iPad can exchange files with the computer, whatever library it was synced with before.
