ePSXe is a stable emulator for PlayStation One. It lets you play a huge number of PS One games on your PC. Naturally, before starting the program you should set it up correctly, taking into account the specifics of the old console's operation. The latest versions of the program have a step-by-step setup at the very first start (Wizard Guide option). The most important link here is the BIOS. Since the developers didn't want to get involved with Sony's intellectual property rights, users will have to find the BIOS file they want to upload to the appropriate folder. Without this file, no game can be started.
To start the games (in the window or full screen) you will need either the disc itself or its image. You can also connect a gamepad (compatible with your PC), or you can use the keyboard as your primary controller. In the latter case, you will have to reassign the original PS One gamepad buttons to the keys (Config Gamepad option).
The program has been supported for almost 15 years. The development team is currently trying to work on emulator versions for other platforms, not forgetting about Windows. Everyone can easily launch well-known Titles like Final Fantasy 7/8/9, Castlevania: Shadow of the Night, Metal Gear Solid, Residen Evil 1/2/3, Silent Hill, Gran Tourismo and many others. If you wanted to play these masterpieces on a PC for a long time, then it's time to download and configure this emulator.
