Far Manager is a program for managing files and archives in Windows operating system. Just a file manager. It works in text (i.e. console) mode and thus provides a very simple and intuitive interface for a number of basic operations: viewing files and directories, editing, copying, renaming and moving files, and much more.

Far Manager has a multilingual and easily customizable interface. Navigating through the file system is very easy, not least because of the use of color illumination and sorting by group. The Far Manager functionality can be significantly enhanced by using external DLL modules, the so-called plugins. The use of plugins is possible thanks to a special set of interfaces - API for plugins. For example, the following plugins are included with the program: archive support, FTP client, temporary panel and network browser. The program is constantly being developed and supported, and has millions of fans and dozens of communities around the world. There are versions available for both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems.

The main benefit of using FAR Manager is its accessible and intuitive text-based interface that simplifies file management on Windows operating systems.

I’ve used Linux operating systems for most of my adult life but I got a great deal on a PC and decided to dual boot it with Windows. I can see why the “point and click” interface appeals to many, but I just wanted to make my Windows experience as comfortable as possible for me. I’m glad I found FAR Manager. Everything takes place in the console so it’s very familiar for me.

FAR Manager is a great software for managing files and folders. It is easy to use, and the interface is simple and intuitive. It has a lot of features that are very useful, such as the ability to copy, move, delete and rename files, or view and edit files in different formats. It also has a great search feature that makes it easy to find files quickly. The integration with command-line tools is invaluable for advanced users. The only downside is that there is no support for FTP, but that's to be expected from a free software. Overall, FAR Manager is a powerful and reliable file manager for any user.

The software has a simple yet powerful interface with efficient file management tools. The ability to customize keyboard shortcuts and macros is a great feature for power users. The lack of a graphical user interface might be a drawback for some users. The software provides quick access to frequently used directories which saves a lot of time. The command-line interface may require some learning for beginners but it's worth it. The ability to compare and sync files is a useful addition.
