Finance Explorer from Metalogic Software is a free personal finance and budgeting program with a familiar Explorer-style layout. Bank, cash and credit card accounts are kept in one place, and transactions can be imported from bank statement files in OFX, QFX, QIF and OFC formats, the same formats used by Microsoft Money and Quicken.

Budgets and goals show how spending compares with plans, a stock portfolio is updated with quotes from the web, and loans can be tracked with their balances. A transaction report summarises income and expenses. The program is free for personal and business use. The developer's website is no longer online, and the last release is distributed through PortableApps.
