If you want to share a large amount of data with other users, but do not want to use the BitTorrent protocol, then creating a home FTP server is one of the best ways to do so. It should be noted that the program Home FTP Server was created with the expectation of novice users, and therefore has a small number of settings and it is quite easy to work with. The program interface is very simple and intuitive, and each menu item is accompanied by a brief tooltip. Thanks to Home FTP Server you can not only start and stop the server, but also create new user accounts to work with it.

In order to start working with the program you just need to specify the directory in which the files you want to send will be stored, as well as the maximum amount of disk space allocated for Home FTP Server. You can also enable renaming, deleting and modifying files from a remote computer.

The program supports different web interfaces and allows you to log in by entering different types of data. Developers of Home FTP Server also equipped their child with tools for logging all actions on the server and monitoring the speed of Internet connection. For advanced users, the program contains a section with advanced settings of the program, which is not recommended for beginners. In general, this is a great solution for those who want to create a home FTP-server, but do not want to go through the instructions and settings of complex applications. Home FTP Server is absolutely free and does not require any additional knowledge from the user.

- the possibility of assigning individual directories to a specific user;

- logging of all operations on the server;

- Web interface support;

- the ability to monitor individual files.

I was able to use Home FTP Server to transfer large files, and it was much easier that Bittorent. I was able to specify where I wanted my files to be downloaded to, so it didn't have to fill up my downloads folder. I liked that there were different web interfaces and that the instructions were not overly complicated. I would recommend Home FTP Server for anyone who doesn't like the typical torrent clients.
