Hyper-V Launcher
Hyper-V Launcher is a small, free and open-source utility that makes it easier to access and manage the Hyper-V virtual machines on your local computer. Instead of opening Hyper-V Manager every time, you can create shortcuts that start a virtual machine and open its connection window directly. The program does not create or configure virtual machines itself; it works with the virtual machines that already exist in Windows Hyper-V.
Hyper-V Launcher opens local Hyper-V virtual machines with one click from a desktop, Start Menu or system tray shortcut.
Features:
• Desktop shortcuts: Hyper-V Launcher can create a desktop shortcut for any local virtual machine, so it can be started with a double-click like a normal application.
• Start Menu shortcuts: Shortcuts can also be placed in the Start Menu, and when creating a shortcut you can give it a new name that is easier to recognize.
• Action on close: For every shortcut you can decide what happens to the virtual machine when you close its connection window: it can stay in its current state, be paused, or be shut down.
• Automatic detection: If enabled in Settings, the program detects new virtual machines and shows a Windows notification that offers to create a shortcut or reports that one was created automatically.
• Automatic cleanup: When a virtual machine is deleted from the system, Hyper-V Launcher removes all of its shortcuts automatically.
• System tray access: The program runs in the system tray, from where you can launch virtual machines, open the Hyper-V Launcher window or open the Hyper-V Manager that comes with Windows.
• Free and open source: Hyper-V Launcher is developed by Andre Zammit and released under the MIT license; the settings page lets it start on Windows login.
By using Hyper-V Launcher, you can start your local virtual machines faster and keep their shortcuts in order without opening the Hyper-V management tools each time. With its simple interface of three pages, Shortcuts, Virtual Machines and Settings, Hyper-V Launcher is a handy addition for anyone who works with several Hyper-V virtual machines on one PC.
