JScreenFix Deluxe Software
JScreenFix Deluxe is a desktop utility from JADS Limited that reduces screen burn-in and image persistence and fixes stuck pixels. It is a standalone Java application that runs silently in the system tray, monitors how the screen is used and equalises the display automatically when the computer is idle or when triggered by the user. It is intended for plasma, CRT and LCD screens that show repetitive content for long periods, such as information displays and digital signage.
JScreenFix deluxe automatically evens out screen burn-in and fixes stuck pixels while the computer is not in use.
Features
• Screen usage monitoring: JScreenFix Deluxe records typical screen usage and calculates an inverse burn image. Showing this image while the computer is not in use evens out bright and dark patches, so that uniform brightness across the whole screen is achieved.
• Repair of existing burn-in: based on recent usage you can choose Quick equalize or Accurate equalize; based on previous usage you can define a template of the burnt area, with presets for common cases such as 4:3 burn-in on a 16:9 widescreen display.
• Modes for unknown usage: Pure white burn, Exercise (LCD) and Snow flash (LCD); snow flash is intended for image persistence on LCD displays.
• Stuck pixel repair: in the Stuck pixels tab you mark the positions of stuck pixels against a black screen, and the program shows the JScreenFix pixel fixing pattern on them while the computer is idle. This also protects against stuck pixels that return periodically.
• Scheduling: repair can start automatically after a set number of minutes of inactivity or between specific times of day, and the Repair display now button starts it at once.
• Multi-monitor support: computers with several connected screens are supported.
• Cross-platform: because it is written in Java, the application works on Windows, Mac and Linux computers with Java 6 or later installed.
• Licensing: without a licence the repair modes run for up to 20 minutes per session; standard (one computer), site (5 to 20 computers) and custom licences were sold.
JScreenFix Deluxe was developed alongside JADS, a digital signage system for showing announcements, news and information on large screens in public places. The deluxe product is no longer offered and its web page is offline, while the free browser-based JScreenFix stuck pixel fixer is still available online from TargetR Ltd. According to JADS, the deluxe version was used in museums, stock exchanges and even a nuclear power station to extend the life of screens with repetitive output.
