Parted Magic

Parted Magic is a Linux-based operating system that is able to run completely off of a CD, DVD or USB drive and manages hard disk partitions, cloning, data rescue and secure erasing. 

Features:

Parted Magic is a multifaceted operating system that allows users to restore data, clone all or parts of the hard disk, resize partitions, convert between MBR and GPT, benchmark hard disk performance and check drive health. The key feature is that it all works independently of the installed system and can be used even when that system is non-operational, making it a fail-safe for when a system crashes. In the eventuality of a crash, backups made with Clonezilla can be restored to regain functionality. This includes attempting to restore lost partitions within a hard disk with TestDisk. 

Additionally, Parted Magic includes benchmarking and diagnostic utilities that run a number of tests to show read and write speeds and warn about failing drives before data is lost. It supports SATA, NVMe, eMMC and USB storage and the common file systems, including NTFS, FAT, exFAT, ext2/3/4 and others. If required, Parted Magic can also perform a full overwrite of the hard disk to completely erase any stored data, following the NIST SP 800-88 guidelines. On SSDs, the Secure Erase command resets all cells to an empty state. Parted Magic is commercial software: current ISO images are downloaded from the official site after buying a license, which covers unlimited drives and machines.
