Portable WizTree is a portable and modern application that runs on 32-bit and 64-bit architectures on older Windows operating systems. The interface itself also reveals and allows data filtering with inclusion or exclusion rules and a sorting mechanism - based on filename and shows disk space percentage, file size, date modified end, and item attributes.
WizTree automatically identifies all storage drives and allows you to select the source you are trying to scan. Alternatively, you can dig deep into your research and submit for analysis MFT (Main File Table) versions, one or more folders, or folders with many different partitions. Furthermore, with Portable WizTree, you can scan the network and non-NTFS drives.
By distinguishing between hard and soft links, one can understand that the latter (as the name implies) is used for the weaker reference. Hard linked or hard-linked files (and directories) are entries that directly refer to the link between the name and the actual item (file, directory). On the other hand, symlinks are more flexible (hence the implementation) but do not persist the file's data and only point to the filename. In this case, it may become problematic to correctly analyze and evaluate the allocated space in the system drives. Fortunately, WizTree doesn't display inaccurate statistics and reports disk and space allocation correctly because it integrates well with the Windows operating system.
