SCARM (Simple Computer-Aided Railway Modeller) is a free software for easy and precise design of model train layouts and railroad track plans. To run SCARM, your computer should meet the following minimum technical requirements:

• Operating System: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 or later;

• Processor: at least Intel Celeron or AMD Athlon processor 1.2 GHz;

• Memory: 512 MB RAM;

• Hard Disk Space: at least 15 MB free space;

• Video Card: any video card with OpenGL support;

• Internet connection: required for program updates and Rail Data Exchange.

SCARM is a fantastic software for creating model railway plans. It is easy to use with a friendly user interface. The software is capable of rendering realistic 3D layouts and provides a wide range of track libraries. The library includes tracks from a range of manufacturers, from well-known brands to lesser-known brands. The tutorials are helpful and the online support is excellent. I have been using SCARM for several years and I am always impressed with its reliability and flexibility. It is a great tool for creating layouts for model railways.
